Rick Treworgy's Muscle Car City // Mecum Auctions // Jan. 22-23, 2021

Mecum Auctions recently announced a full-scale extension to the January auction action in Florida with an additional offering of 200 cars plus an extensive selection of Road Art and memorabilia from Rick Treworgy’s Muscle Car City. The assemblage will be offered all at no reserve this Jan. 22-23 at an on-site auction at Muscle Car City, which is located in Punta Gorda, Florida, just 2.5 hours southwest of Kissimmee, Florida, where Mecum will hold the world’s largest collector car auction the week prior, Jan. 7-16.

Rick Treworgy’s outstanding Muscle Car City exhibit of 200 cars stands as one of the largest GM muscle car and Corvette collections in the country and represents more than 80 years of American automotive history. Mr. Treworgy spent decades personally collecting and curating the cars and Road Art within, and after 14 years of sharing his collection with the public in Punta Gorda, he’s decided to retire and is ready now to share the vast majority of his treasure with fellow collectors.

The auction of Muscle Car City on Jan. 22 and 23 will be open to registered bidders only, a group that will automatically include all bidders registered for Kissimmee 2021. For those not already registered for Kissimmee 2021, bidder registration is available online for $200, which includes admission for one bidder and one guest. The public is welcome to visit Muscle Car City during its regular hours of operation, Tuesdays through Sundays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., through Jan. 17. Admission is $12.50 plus tax per adult. The facility will re-open on Jan. 21 for an auction preview prior to the auction starting at 9 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 22.

  1. I think Rick Hendrick might have a thing or two to say about who's got the best collection of GM cars on the planet. Just because his garage is not open to the public doesn't make it any less eligible for that title.

  3. My Channel helped them blow up few years ago no videos were allowed but I snuck around taking videos to post on my YouTube channel and it blew up their traffic and popularity wish I would get some credit for that. I did because I knew it deserved to be showcased online and no I see them in the new location and just wonder if I never told thousands of people would that of happened? @musclecarcity #musclecarcity

  4. Sorry to see Rick's collection go. However, I understand the need to really retire and go see the world. Our regional AACA club's visit to his collection in 2009 will forever remain in my memory. This was before the venue was perfected to it's current state. Rick was (and is) very gracious, humble and down to earth. Good luck to you Mr. Treworgy. Your treasures will undoubtedly continue to be loved and cherished.

  5. Amazing collection! I love Chevrolet… I also love motorcycles 😀 There will be some very happy owners, very soon. I'm curious if they are all original, or if there are some subtle mods, restomods or custom builds in there somewhere. Enjoy your retirement, Rick. You've been at this for several decades and I think it's a smart and sensible move to let it all go to fellow enthusiasts, and go travel where and when you want to.
